Is Your Information At Risk – Windows 7 Support Ends January 2020

~ Author - Cole Beehner, CPA, Deluzio & Company, Partner ~

As of January 14, 2020, Microsoft will no longer provide security updates or support for PCs running Windows 7. This means that computers running on Windows 7 will be more vulnerable to security risks and viruses. To avoid these risks, Microsoft recommends upgrading to Windows 10.

In consideration of the personal information you may have on your computer, including bank accounts and personally identifying information, we recommend upgrading your computer as soon as possible. Without security updates, all programs and data on your computer are more vulnerable, including QuickBooks Desktop versions.

If you are a Quickbooks Desktop user, please see Intuit’s recommendations at Intuit Support. If you link bank accounts or process payroll using QuickBooks, the inability to receive security updates puts this information at risk.
