Federal Level:
IRS Coronavirus Information – The IRS has established a special section focused on steps to help taxpayers, businesses and others affected by the coronavirus. IRS Filing and Payment Deadline Extended – The Treasury Department and the Internal Revenue Service are providing special tax filing and payment relief to individuals and businesses in response to the COVID-19 Outbreak. The filing deadline for tax returns has been extended from April 15 to July 15, 2020. Taxpayers can also defer federal income tax payments due on April 15 until July 15, 2020, which includes tax balances due with the returns and first quarter 2020 estimated tax payments. For those who can’t file by the July 15, 2020 deadline, the IRS reminds taxpayers that everyone is eligible to request an extension to file their return.
PA State Level:
PA Department of Revenue Coronavirus Information – The PA Department of Revenue announced the deadline for taxpayers to file their 2019 Pennsylvania personal income tax returns is extended to July 15, 2020. Taxpayers can also defer state income tax payments due on April 15, until July 15, 2020, which includes tax balances due with the returns and first and second quarter 2020 estimated tax payments. For those who can’t file by the July 15, 2020 deadline, the PA Department of Revenue reminds taxpayers that everyone is eligible to request an extension to file their return.
PA DCED Resources – Department of Community and Economic Development website. This website provides an explanation of Governor Wolf’s order, a list of current businesses permitted to operate and a waiver/exemption form for non-life sustaining businesses.
PA Unemployment Compensation Resources – PA Unemployment Compensation website covers information on unemployment or workers’ compensation benefits for those who are unable to work due to COVID-19, as well as, information for employers.
